Hey, I forgot to write about this yesterday: the Japanese maple seeds I had stratifying in the fridge are beginning to sprout now! I took them out of the refrigerator about a week ago, and I put some in the little six packs in my seed trays with a lid over them. I left a bunch in the ziploc baggie with moist peat moss, and several of those started developing a root. Four of them have germinated that way, so I put them in the six pack cells, but I still don’t see them popping up above the soil yet.
I also have large maple seeds from a street tree, but they don’t appear to be doing anything yet.
