All right! I’m getting a bunch of sprouts from the white coneflower seeds I sprinkled on top of the soil in one of the seedling trays. It took about a week, and I’d say about 40% have sprouted. I transferred some into other cells. I think some more of the seeds will sprout in the coming week.
A few more of the poppies are sprouting up now, but there are still about 20 that haven’t come up (I thought it was 15 earlier).
I propped the lid up on the tray with cosmos seedlings, because some are getting too tall. One more of the cosmos seeds in the paper towel/ziploc thing sprouted. I took all the unsprouted seeds and sprinkled them on top of the soil in the remaining cells I had reserved for cosmos. We’ll see if any sprout.
The Salvia nemorosa are very slow in growing leaves. A few of them are so tiny and are losing their green color — turning dark — and I don’t know if they’ll make it. The new seeds I gathered last week aren’t doing much. A few had sprouted earlier, but the remaining ones haven’t produced a root since perhaps four days ago.
The coreopsis seedlings are coming along well. Slow, but healthy. Some of their cells may be too wet from the original soaking I did with them.
